As I walked out

2020

We have started a new Mystery Days Out project: walking the Capital Ring. The mystery is not where we are going, which is handily mapped out for us, but what we will find along the way.

2017-2019

What would happen if we set out one morning on a train journey without knowing where we were going?

We decided to find out.

It all sounds very carefree but there are some practical problems to overcome: ‘on the day’ train fares are very expensive for long journeys for a start! But we have simplified our approach so our destination is still a mystery until we pick a train and get on board.

Each place provides a different kind of inspiration. We don’t know what we will find when we get there, what we will feel about it, let alone what work we might produce as a result. Here are highlights of our visits so far.

There was a gap for bad weather, the Paris trip in March and the Drawing Breath retreat in April but this time we were not deterred by a bit of rain.
